Upon arriving early morning on 4/24/25, 6:20 AM, I was greeted by the staff and he grabbed my bag to bring around back, very friendly. When I went to pay for the round, the lady, who looked like she may have been doing inventory, seemed bothered that I was there and was ready to pay.
Driving range and warmup green were great. I played as a single on the course and was forced to ride with a random from the 3some I was paired with. Not really a fan of this as there are plenty of carts at the cart barn just sitting there.
The course was overall decent but the bunkers were terrible. Having the 7:12 am tee time, I expected them to be raked and untouched. There were plenty that weren’t raked and a lot of them that were wet. Some even had areas where a pool of water was still present at the low spot (this was the case on the island green on the par 5 back bunker).
Having been the passenger to the random person on the cart, they wanted to wait at the 18th green for their friends behind us. Not having my own cart, I had to pack my items there and walk. Not the best experience paying for a certain expectation of being able to utilize a cart.

4 days a go, Lost one approach bag containing 5 clubs during cart-only transit between Hole 11–12 at PGA West.
The round was enjoyable—the course was beautiful and golfing here was a pleasure.
Bag included XXIO clubs and a Scotty Cameron putter.
Disappearance was noticed within minutes; still hopeful the clubs will be returned via proper return desk protocol.
For future players, clearer club-return signage and streamlined lost-item handling on cart-only routes could protect the experience we enjoy here for.

I played the tournament course yesterday and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had in this area. I have been coming down here for several years now and have always enjoyed playing the best courses in this area. There was no control of the number of players allowed on the course. We were told that they had a party of 20 that held up the whole course. They ended up playing at whatever pace they wanted. We had a eightsome in front of us. No ranger! For what we pay to play what was a legendary course you would think they could afford good management. I would not come back, there are too many very good courses that don’t take 6 hours, and we never got to finish because of darkness.

Very beautiful and maintained golf course.
Made for a longer round due to cart path only.
But overall a very nice course.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. And the starter was able to get us off earlier. 👍

Our family of three played at PGA WEST NICHOLAS TOURNAMENT course on 11/27. Two minutes before tee-off, we were told by the starter to share a cart with the plus one. The starter and the assistant pro insisted that it was to reduce cart traffic to protect the course. Yet, there were multiple groups with three or more carts with non--playing visitors! The starter was extremely rude. The whole experience was dreadful!!
We have golfed at many top-tier resorts. Our experience at PGA WEST NICHOLAS TOURNAMENT course was BY FAR the WORST!! It is a shame to have Jack’s name and Jack’s course tarnished by such staff. We will not come back again and we feel obligated to warn other golfers about the exceptionally poor service at this outfit.
