The Golf Club of California course is located near Fallbrook, California. We came across this course through the JC Card and it is very well-maintained and on a premium property. It has challenges for all, and a nice range for practice. The course is a welcome venture into a course set in a little more nature than the average SoCal course. The restrooms and facilities are very nice, and the carts are great. The pro shop staff, caddies, and range staff are all friendly. The shop itself is a little lean on inventory, particularly snacks and beverages. We were paired up with a dad and young son, and they were very self-aware of the pace of play, picking up and playing a scramble to keep moving along. Although we were waiting on a group in front, not wanting to hit up on them, the group behind was very clearly pressuring us all. We were playing well below the pace of play parameters given at the start, and couldn’t go any faster. It makes us wonder is the JC Card over-booking the courses for profit? Or were these just impatient regulars ? Not sure, don’t care, and it was still a nice time. Would like to return, and check out the food/beverage offerings.

Played course 12 Sept 2024. The amenities of this course is unmatched. From the locker room to the practice facilities. Course has a full range and good practice area for chipping and putting. The course also has a great military discount rate. The starter outside was friendly and very helpful. As for the course it's in pretty good shape. The tee boxes are cut nicely, fairways cut nice although some dry spot, the bunkers could be a lot better with actual sand added to some of them, the greens are in great shape with the exception of maybe 1. The course is clearly working on that green to bring it back to life. This course is challenging with a great layout. You won't be disappointed in the quality nor the service. Highly recommend to all golfers. They also have a cart girl and drinking water throughout the course which is a PLUS!!!
