Played yesterday for the first time and my expectations were blown away. Sure it’s a muni and it is what it is, but the course was in fantastic shape from tee to green, pace was good, people were super nice and the course is pretty fun and wide open. I’ll definitely play again soon

Honestly, really didn't enjoy playing golf here too much. The condition of the course is not ideal, especially the greens, several greens have "bunkers" on it, if you know what I mean. Hardly can name one of the 18 holes that the design is good, pretty much all the holes are straight, not even dog leg left or right.

My wife and I visited Silverbell Golf Course hoping to enjoy a positive day together and introduce her to golf for the first time. Instead, we experienced some of the most unprofessional and discouraging treatment we’ve ever encountered at a golf course. When we arrived at the first tee, a staff member immediately told my wife she couldn’t play because she didn’t have her own bag or clubs. I asked to see this rule in writing, and he couldn’t provide it. After checking both the Silverbell and Tucson City Golf websites myself, there is no policy stating that every golfer must have their own clubs. We had already paid over $130 for the round, and this “rule” seemed to be something made up on the spot. Although they eventually allowed us to continue, the staff member followed us and watched us at multiple holes, making the experience extremely uncomfortable. Despite the slow group playing in front of us—and the players paired with us struggling—we kept pace the entire time. After the 9th hole, the same staff member told my wife she could no longer play because she was “too slow,” even though the delays were clearly caused by the group ahead of us. Instead of managing the real issue, they singled out my wife, who was simply trying the sport for the first time. This behavior felt discriminatory and completely unnecessary. What was supposed to be a fun and meaningful day turned into embarrassment, stress, and frustration because of poor staff judgment and nonexistent policies being enforced. Silverbell Golf Course failed to provide basic professionalism, courtesy, or consistency in their operations. This course needs serious training and oversight, especially when it comes to how they treat beginners and new players. I will not be returning, and I hope management takes this type of behavior seriously so other guests don’t go through the same experience.
