We had a great time at the Short Course at Mountain Shadows Resort. The course was in excellent condition — the tee boxes and greens were very well maintained, and you can tell they take pride in keeping everything looking sharp. The greens themselves are definitely not very forgiving, and we had more than a few shots roll off with the slopes and some tough pin placements, but honestly that’s part of what made it fun. It adds a real challenge to what could otherwise be “just” a par-3 course.
The staff was friendly and welcoming from start to finish, and the on-course service really stood out. The beverage cart came by multiple times (4) during our round, which was appreciated.
As for pricing, it’s about what you’d expect for a Paradise Valley location — not cheap, but fair considering the scenery, conditions, and overall resort experience.
Overall, it’s a beautiful, challenging short course that’s perfect for a relaxed but still competitive round with friends. We’ll definitely be back. 2/16 26

This was our first time to Scottsdale for golf. Our stay at Mountainshadows was perfect. I absolutely loved the mid century modern architecture and vibes. The hotel is immaculately maintained and the staff were welcoming and accommodating. We played the short course twice and both times it was great. The pro shop and cart attendees ensured we were taken care of at all times. It’s been a while since I have witnessed customer service at this level, it was absolutely refreshing. The little things do matter and the Mountainshadows staff are leaning into that! We will be back.

We loved our short stay here. Room service was prompt, the rooms were very spacious with lovely amenities. The gym was amply stocked with cardio and weight training equipment. In the evening there was live music and we got to sit by the fire pits near the pool. There is also an adults only pool of people prefer a more quiet atmosphere. Meals were very high quality. We will definitely be back
