After years of loyalty and hoping for improvements, I've unfortunately decided to play other courses in the area due to persistent issues. The following represents just a few of the problems I've encountered.
During one round, my group stopped at the turn for snacks and was aggressively confronted by “members” who accused us of cutting ahead to the back nine. We attempted to explain the situation to them and they became more aggravated and aggressive towards our group. When mentioned to the pro-shop I was told that they would look into it and didn’t hear anything moving forward.
I'm also repeatedly paired with other golfers despite specifically booking tee times for two players. While I understand course management during peak hours, when I intentionally reserve a time for myself and one companion, I expect to play our round together without being grouped with strangers.
Most frustrating was a recent twilight booking at 1:24 PM where we teed off at 1:07 PM. At no point did the pro-shop inform us that play after 1:00 PM was limited to nine holes—information we only learned from the marshal. We were charged full 18-hole greens fees with only a minor cart discount. Upon finishing around 2:40 PM, we requested to play the back nine and offered to pay the additional cart fee, but were denied due to a "no carts after 2:30 PM" policy. Ironically, multiple groups were teeing off on both holes one and ten at that exact moment. With ample daylight remaining and our willingness to pay, the refusal felt arbitrary and inconsistent.
These experiences represent ongoing patterns rather than isolated incidents. While the course layout itself is enjoyable, the operational inconsistencies and poor communication have become deal breakers. Several excellent alternatives in the area offer better customer service and transparency.

Great golf course! Friendly staff and players. Well manicured fairways and greens. Fairways are wide, greens provide a decent challenge. Family friendly, great place to practice your game or take it serious. Driving range on site looks decent too. I had fun my first time out playing 9 and cant wait to come back and play all 18.

Great day to be a Murphy Panther! In preparation for our 35th class reunion, we all met up at Azalea City Golf Course for souvenir distribution. This location was excellent, for it offered an opportunity for our classmates to get to see what A.C.G. has to offer a great atmosphere, great food in The 19th Hole, and a great staff! We will definitely be coming back soon!
